
The 13th Traditional Orchid Observation Walk took place yesterday, organized by the Denizli-Gemikonağı Development Association in Lefke.
During the event, President Tatar delivered a speech, highlighting the significance of walking for a healthy life and stressing the importance of raising awareness to protect Lefke’s natural beauty and orchids.
He also noted that the walk served as a tribute to Bahar and Ulaş Hüssam, members of the Denizli-Gemikonağı Development Association’s board, who lost their lives in the February 6 earthquake in Türkiye.
President Tatar also commemorated the Champion Angels and the 49 TRNC citizens who perished in the disaster.
Additionally, he underlined the crucial role of Lefke European University, Lefke Municipality, and civil society organizations in both preserving the region’s natural beauty and contributing to its development.
Expressing confidence in the future, President Tatar stated that he trusts the children and young people who will lead the country in the years to come. brt
