8th Hematological Rare Diseases Congress

The Eighth Hematological Rare Diseases Congress was realized on Wednesday.

Innovative treatment methods were discussed at the congress.

The 8th Hematological Rare Diseases Congress was held in Bafra with the theme “Innovative Treatments in Cancer and Future Vision.”

Speaking at the congress, Prof. Dr. Fevzi Altuntaş, Founding President of the Hematological Rare Diseases Association, emphasized the importance of stem cell transplants and noted that Türkiye has made significant progress in this field in a short period of time.

Congress President Prof. Dr. Serdal Korkmaz highlighted that cancer is a preventable and treatable disease.

He stated that cancer can now be treated with oral medications with high success rates.

Prof. Dr. Abdülkadir Baştürk explained that hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which plays a crucial role in the treatment of blood, bone and lymph node cancers, has reached approximately 6,000 procedures annually in Türkiye, bringing it to the level of Western countries.

Congress Secretary Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahar Uncu Ulu discussed the importance of artificial intelligence in hematology.

Prof. Dr. Burhan Turgut provided detailed information about CAR-T cell therapy. brt
