Terror-Free Türkiye

Following the announcement by the terrorist organization PKK that it will dissolve itself and surrender its weapons, attention has turned to the next phase.

In the resolution declaration issued by the PKK terrorist organization, it was stated, “The activities carried out under the name PKK have been terminated.”

Following PKK’s decision to dissolve itself and lay down arms, a mechanism involving the Iraqi central government and the regional Kurdish administration in northern Iraq will be implemented.

In cities such as Sulaymaniyah and Erbil in Iraq, centers will be established where terrorists coming down from the mountains will hand over their weapons and be registered. This entire process will be conducted under the supervision of Turkish intelligence and military units.

All types of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from PKK’s weapon depots and camps will be handed over.

The disarmament process is expected to be completed by the end of summer.

Foreign members of the organization without a criminal record in Türkiye will be allowed to return to their home countries.

Turkish citizen terrorists will be gradually taken into custody at the border.

Terrorists who have laid down their arms will not be allowed to cross into Syria under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, it was reported that United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the PKK’s decision to dissolve and disarm.

Commenting on PKK’s announcement of self-dissolution, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, “We are moving confidently towards our goal of a Türkiye without terrorism. Today, we have crossed another critical threshold. We consider this decision important for strengthening the security of our country and the eternal brotherhood of our nation. A new era will begin in every field.” brt
