
Organized for the 13th time this year by Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality, the Traditional Lapta Tourism Festival will begin on Friday.
A press conference was held today at Heaven Restaurant regarding the festival, which will take place in Lapta on June 20-22.
Ataser
Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Mayor Fırat Ataser expressed his happiness at organizing the 13th edition of the festival and thanked everyone who contributed to its realization.
Emphasizing that Lapta, with its historical, natural, and cultural richness, is one of the most beautiful regions of Northern Cyprus and where Turkish Cypriot tourism began, Ataser stated that their goal is to once again turn Lapta into a tourism attraction center.
Ataser underlined that the Lapta Tourism Festival is not merely an entertainment event, but primarily aims to promote the town’s historical, touristic, natural, and cultural riches as well as its unique local values.
He added that during the festival, which will feature “colorful shows, concerts, fun activities, and surprise performances”, the culture, handicrafts, and gastronomy of Cyprus will be showcased and shared with both locals and tourists.
Mayor Ataser invited all citizens to the festival, which will host various colorful events over the course of three days.
Nasiboğlu
Following Mayor Ataser’s speech, organizing committee member Arda Nasiboğlu shared details of the festival program.
Nasiboğlu stated that the 13th Lapta Tourism Festival will kick off on the evening of Friday, June 20, with a parade starting in front of Lapta Yavuzlar High School, followed by the opening ceremony.
On the first day of the festival, there will be a Fire Show, a performance by the Beşparmak Dağlarının Efeleri, and a show by Pena Art School. The first day’s events will conclude with concerts by Grup Otantik Ateş and Ertan Derya.
On Saturday, June 21, the program will feature a magic show, LAÇ Municipality Intermediate Group Folk Dance Show, Studio Euphoria by Nurcan Özatılgan Jumping Fitness Show, Arucad Dance Club performance, Dikmen Youth Center Folk Dance Show, Spring Fairy Dance Academy Dance Show, Black Sea Cultural Association and Northern Sons Dance Show, Dance Per Minute Dance Show, and LAÇ Municipality Senior Folk Dance Show. The second day’s events will end with concerts by Nafiz Dölek and Turkadissko.
Nasiboğlu announced that on Sunday, June 22, the festival will conclude with a concert by Sultan Durusular, followed by a performance from famous Turkish singer Merve Özbey.
