According to the Meteorology Department’s weather forecast report for Thursday, August 14, the region is expected to remain under the influence of a low-pressure system and a very hot air mass.
Air temperatures are forecast to be 5 to 7 degrees above seasonal norms, while winds are expected to blow from the north and west at moderate strength.
Today, the weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy.
The highest air temperatures will generally range between 36 and 44 degrees in inland areas and along the coasts.
In the capital, Nicosia, temperatures are expected to be around 44 degrees.
