As extreme highs like the recent 45°C are not expected next week, temperatures inland will approach 40°C by the end of the week, with a drop anticipated in the last week of August.
Meteorologist Panagiotis Georgiou, stated that the weather will remain mostly clear in the coming days, with temperatures reaching around 37°C inland, 30-33°C in coastal areas, and 29°C on the mountains on Sunday. Similar temperatures are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
He added that temperatures may rise by one degree on Wednesday and Thursday, peaking at 38-39°C, and could approach 40°C inland by the weekend.
Georgiou underlined that extreme temperatures like the recent 45°C are not expected.
When asked if an accurate forecast for the week starting August 24 is possible, despite the usual uncertainties, he said temperatures are expected to decline but a clearer picture will emerge by mid-week.
Regarding isolated rain over the mountains, he said that possibility has now diminished.
