The leader of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Tufan Erhürman, who announced his candidacy for the Presidency, met with citizens in Karaoğlanoğlu.
He was accompanied by the Social Democratic Party (TDP) leader Zeki Çeler and several members of parliament during his visits.
In his speech, Erhürman said, “This country will become a livable country,” and described the upcoming elections as historic.
Touching upon the Cyprus issue, Erhürman argued that 10 years had been lost within the past 5 years, stressing that they would defend the rights of the Turkish Cypriot people at the negotiation table to the very end.
Stressing that the Turkish Cypriot people will claim their sovereignty rights no matter what, he added, “The way to achieve this is through a federal structure based on political equality of two constituent states, bi-zonality, and bi-communality.”
TDP Leader Zeki Çeler also spoke at the event, saying, “We will continue to walk together.”brt
