The Nicosia Marathon, organized by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB), will be held on October 12, with proceeds going toward the construction of a new Sports Complex for Barrier-Free Living and a Rehabilitation Facility in Demirhan.
The event, sponsored by Kahve Dünyası in cooperation with the Athletics Federation, was presented at a press conference at the Bandabuliya Stage.
LTB Mayor Mehmet Harmancı described the marathon as “the biggest sports and charity event of Northern Cyprus” and announced plans to elevate the 2026 marathon to an international level, with a 42 km route.
This year’s marathon will feature four categories: Kids Run, 4 km Public Run, 10 km, and 21 km. The half-marathon (21 km) begins at 07:00, followed by the 10 km run at 07:30, the Kids Run at 09:40, and the 4 km Public Run at 10:30. The prize ceremony will take place at Bedesten at 19:00 on the same day.
Registration is available online at www.lefkosamaratonu.com or at the Nicosia Turkish Municipality from September 29 to October 11, during weekday and weekend hours. Participation in the Kids Run is free, while fees are set at 250 TL for the 4 km, 1,750 TL for the 10 km, and 2,250 TL for the 21 km.
