The TRNC State Planning Organization announced the April Consumer Price Index (CPI) as 5.92 percent. Accordingly, the Annual Inflation Rate is 95.60 percent, and the Four-Month CPI is 22.98 percent.

In the Consumer Price Index, there has been a change of 5.92 percent compared to the previous month, 22.98 percent compared to December of the previous year, and 95.60 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
By major expenditure groups, the highest increase compared to the previous month was 19.48 percent in the Entertainment and Culture major group. In the Restaurant and Hotels major group, there was a 16.15 percent increase, 15.64 percent in the Communication major group, 13.36 percent in the Education major group, 10.30 percent in the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco major group, 9.16 percent in the Health major group, 3.74 percent in the Miscellaneous Goods and Services major group, 2.66 percent in the Transport major group, 1.95 percent in the Furniture, Household Appliances, and Home Care Services major group, 1.77 percent in the Clothing and Footwear major group, and a 0.93 percent increase in the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels major group, while there was a 2.12 percent decrease in the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages major group.
Compared to the previous month, there was an increase in the average prices of 483 items covered by the index, while there was a decrease in the average prices of 90 items. The top three items showing the highest price increase were Lens Care Products with 244.66 percent, Prepaid Mobile Phone Call Charges (B GSM Operator) with 148.14 percent, and Prepaid Mobile Phone Call Charges (A GSM Operator) with 65.18 percent. The top three items showing the highest price decrease were Cucumber with 64.00 percent, Lettuce with 58.16 percent, and Fresh Broad Beans with 52.24 percent.
