The current UEFA country coefficient rankings are closely watched following Başakşehir’s 2-0 victory against St. Patrick’s. In the rankings, Turkiye is closely followed by the Czech Republic, where Slavia Prague has qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 19 years. Attention now shifts to Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor as they prepare for their upcoming matches.
Turkiye’s UEFA country coefficient ranking had declined after the previous qualifying matches. The country coefficient is calculated by dividing the points accumulated by clubs in European competitions by the number of teams representing the country, based on performance over the last five seasons. Points are awarded for wins, draws, and losses, which are then divided by the number of participating teams and added to the country coefficient.
Since Turkey finished in the top 10 of the UEFA country coefficient for the 2023-2024 season, the champion of the 2024/25 Süper Lig will qualify directly for the Champions League in the 2025/26 season.
