Bluetongue outbreak affects 133 farms, 193 animals dead

The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has confirmed an outbreak of Bluetongue disease across 133 farms in the Vadili and İskele ( Trikomo) regions, resulting in the death of 193 animals.

Producers are encouraged to report Bluetongue cases to the Veterinary Department, as compensation from the General Agricultural Insurance Fund will be provided upon proper registration.

The Ministry highlighted the importance of fly control to manage the disease spread.

Immediate measures, including movement restrictions on affected farms, disinfection, fly control, safe disposal of deceased animals, and compensation processes, have been implemented across farms in Famagusta, Dipkarpaz, and Geçitkale districts following September detections.
