Turkish Cypriot elite athlete Buse Savaşkan has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
News of her success has led to joy in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and both President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel issued messages congratulating her on her success.
In a message via his social media account President Tatar wrote “Our national athlete Buse Savaşkan has made us all proud by qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics. She continues to be a source of inspiration for the Turkish Cypriot youth. I congratulate her wholeheartedly and wish her continued success.”
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel via his social media account wrote “Our elite athlete Buse Savaşkan, who has always made the Turkish Cypriot people proud, has achieved extraordinary success by qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics… I congratulate her wholeheartedly. Buse Savaşkan has once again made our country proud with her determination and sporting success.
She continues to be a source of inspiration for the Turkish Cypriot youth. This success of Buse Savaşkan is an important example of how far Turkish Cypriot sports has progressed in the international arena. I wish her and all our athletes success in future competitions.”
