Christodoulides receives Guterres’ invitation letter

Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, after receiving Guterres’ invitation letter to Geneva, stated that the Greek Cypriot side would not discuss anything other than a federation and the continuation of negotiations from Crans-Montana.

Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides has received an invitation letter from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for the meeting in Geneva.

After receiving the letter, Christodoulides stated that the Greek Cypriot side would not discuss anything other than a federation and the continuation of negotiations from Crans-Montana.

Arguing that there would be no hope for positive developments in Geneva if the Turkish side did not respond to these parameters, Christodoulides stressed that the Greek Cypriot side would not consider “any action or measure aimed at solidifying the current situation or promoting any alternative solution.”

Christodoulides also announced that, since Greece would be participating in the Geneva meeting, he would travel to Athens on Saturday to meet with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.brt
