Cooperation Protocol Signed Between BAU Cyprus and L.A.Ç. Municipality: A Joint Step for Science, Culture, and the Environment
A significant cooperation protocol has been signed between Bahçeşehir Cyprus University (BAU Cyprus) and the Lapta Alsancak Çamlıbel Municipality (L.A.Ç. Municipality), covering scientific, cultural, and environmental fields.
This multifaceted protocol aims to foster mutual support in education, research, and practical activities between the university and the municipality; to provide practical opportunities for students; and to develop joint projects in scientific, social, artistic, environmental, urban, and technological fields.
Focus on Architecture and Nature-Oriented Projects
Specifically, the cooperation between BAU Cyprus Faculty of Architecture and L.A.Ç. Municipality will focus on the preservation of cultural heritage in urban and rural areas, the documentation of historical structures, and the ecological, structural, and landscape rehabilitation of riverbeds.
Both parties aim to develop sustainable projects by sharing knowledge, experience, and resources.
International Participation Through Summer School
As part of this cooperation, a summer school will be held from July 11 to 18, 2025, with the participation of academic staff and students from BAU Cyprus and the University of Westminster in London. L.A.Ç. Municipality will actively participate and provide support for the project during this summer school.
Aiming for Academic and Social Impact
This collaboration is expected to generate added value not only for students but also for the local community, by initiating culturally and environmentally conscious projects. The protocol is seen as a significant step towards academic development and local progress.
