Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu emphasized that the steps to be taken by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be more visible thanks to the cooperation protocol signed between the Competition Board and the Turkish Competition Authority.
Amcaoğlu also noted that it is very important to transfer the experience gained from the competition environment of Türkiye, a country of 85 million people, to the small-scale TRNC.
The Competition Board and the Turkish Competition Authority have signed a cooperation protocol, marking an important milestone in their year-long dialogue.
Mustafa Üstünel, Chairman of the Competition Board, expressed pleasure in formalizing the partnership with the reputable Turkish Competition Authority, highlighting their desire to benefit from their experience.
Birol Küle, President of the Turkish Competition Authority, emphasized the shared ideals between the two states and their commitment to the development of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu acknowledged the significance of cooperation between the two countries and the visibility it will bring to the TRNC’s steps.
He emphasized the importance of transferring Türkiye’s extensive competition experience to the TRNC, which will greatly benefit its economy.
Meanwhile the President and members of the Turkish Competition Authority and TRNC Competition Board, who signed the Cooperation Protocol, were received by President Ersin Tatar.
Speaking during the visit Tatar said that the support provided for the understanding of competition to become permanent and for this to be institutionalized is very important.
He expressed his belief that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will gradually institutionalize and take its rightful place.
