European Council President, Antonio Costa, expressed his full support to UN Secretary General’s efforts regarding the Cyprus problem and the informal summit in Geneva, in a tweet on Monday evening in which he repeated that the EU is committed to the reunification of Cyprus as a bizonal bicommunal federation.
“Full support for the @UN Secretary-General’s efforts on the Cyprus settlement talks taking place today and tomorrow in Geneva” wrote Costa on platform X.
“We reiterate our firm commitment to the reunification of Cyprus, through a comprehensive settlement on the basis of a bizonal and bicommunal federation and in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions,” he added.
“The European Union stands ready to play its role and step up its efforts to support this process,” he stressed.
