The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) released its Bishkek Declaration following the 11th Summit of the Council of Heads of State, held in Kyrgyzstan. During the summit, 16 agreements, resolutions, and protocols were signed, underscoring a strengthened commitment to cooperation among member states.
The TDT’s Secretary-General, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, congratulated Kyrgyzstan on assuming the chairmanship, emphasizing that the leaders, foreign ministers, and relevant ministers signed 16 documents aimed at deepening cooperation. Among the signed agreements, the Bishkek Declaration highlighted several significant developments.
Key points in the declaration included the adoption of a new flag for the organisation, the announcement that Hungary will host the OTS’s next informal summit in 2025 and the establishment of a Civil Protection Mechanism and the Turkic Green Finance Council.
The declaration also called for the formation of a network to connect Red Crescent societies across the OTS members’ states.
Bishkek was also designated as the Digital Capital of the Turkic World for 2025.
Furthermore, the summit approved the OTS’s Permanent Representatives’ Regulations and the Turkic World Charter.
The declaration announced the formation of the Council of Central Banks of OTS members and outlined new initiatives for cooperation in the digital economy.
Additionally, agreements were signed to foster collaboration in space activities and to develop a large-scale language model for the organization.
In its final sections, the declaration addressed the situations in Gaza and Lebanon, condemning attacks on civilians and stressing the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and international law. brt
