The Republic Assembly’s Economic, Financial, Budget, and Planning Committee is set to begin deliberations on Monday on the 2025 Fiscal Year State Budget Bill, projecting a substantial increase in public spending for the upcoming year.

The proposed budget for 2025, totaling ₺136.28bn, represents a 73.12% increase from 2024’s approved ₺78.72bn, reflecting expanded financial requirements.

Committee discussions will be led by Committee Chair Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay, with opening remarks from Finance Minister Özdemir Berova.

The proceedings will address the overall budget structure, followed by detailed item-by-item reviews.

Additional revenue streams include ₺3.62bn in special revenues and ₺8.5bn dedicated to TRNC investments. Support from Türkiye remains significant, with 14.5bn in aid and ₺4bn in credit anticipated, alongside ₺17.62bn from domestic sources.

These committee deliberations are scheduled to begin daily at 9:00 am and will proceed in stages, covering ministries and agencies across a range of sectors.

The budget bill will then move to the Assembly’s General Session for final debate and approval. BRT
