
The Turkish Cypriot people’s leader in the struggle for existence and freedom, Dr. Fazıl Küçük, will be commemorated tomorrow on the 41st anniversary of his passing.
According to a statement from the National Days Celebration Central Committee, ceremonies will take place at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Monument and the Atatürk Cultural Centre in Lefkoşa.
The first ceremony will begin at the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Monument at 10:26 AM, starting with the laying of wreaths in accordance with protocol.
A moment of silence will follow, accompanied by the playing of the National Anthem as flags are raised and then lowered to half-mast. President Ersin Tatar will sign the Monument’s Special Book and deliver a speech to conclude the event.
The commemoration program will continue at the Atatürk Cultural Centre at 11:15 AM.
The event will open with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by speeches from Dr. Küçük’s granddaughter, Selen Süheyla Küçük, and President Tatar.
The program will conclude with a performance by the Anatolian Fine Arts High School Oratory Group, honoring the legacy of Dr. Fazıl Küçük. BRT
