DUE TO AUGUST 30 VICTORY DAY, CEREMONIES WILL BE HELD TOMORROW IN THE TRNC

 

Ceremonies will take place in all districts on the anniversary of August 30, which is celebrated as an official and national holiday in the Republic of Turkey and the TRNC to commemorate the Great Offensive that resulted in victory under the command of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Ambassador and KTBK will receive congratulations

According to a statement from the National Days Celebration Central Committee, the celebrations for August 30 Victory Day will commence with the congratulations reception by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia, Yasin Ekrem Serim, along with the Commander of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces, Major General Sebahattin Kılınç, at 08:45. The reception will take place at the KTKA Command’s Garrison in Ortaköy.

Wreath laying at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia

The wreath-laying ceremony at the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia will begin at 09:30. The ceremony will conclude with the laying of wreaths in order of protocol, a moment of silence, the National Anthem, the raising of the flags to the mast, and the signing of the Special Book of the Monument.

Official parade on Dr. Küçük Boulevard

The official parade on Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard will begin at 10:00. The National Anthem will be played, the flags will be raised to the mast, the ceremonial units will be reviewed, the citizens will celebrate the holiday, and an officer will speak on behalf of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Forces Command. The ceremony will end with a speech by President Ersin Tatar and the official parade.

Two ceremonies in Gazimağusa

In Gazimağusa, two separate ceremonies will be held at the Victory Monument and İsmet İnönü Boulevard. The ceremony in front of the Victory Monument will start at 17:00, concluding with the laying of wreaths according to protocol, a moment of silence, and the raising of flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem.

The ceremony at İsmet İnönü Boulevard will start at 13:30 with the raising of the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem, followed by the celebration of the holiday by the ceremonial units and citizens, speeches, poetry, folk dance performances, a music recital, and the official parade.

Kyrenia

The ceremonies in Kyrenia will take place in front of the Atatürk Monument at 16:30. The ceremony will begin with the laying of wreaths at the monument, followed by the raising of the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem, speeches, poetry, and the official parade.

As part of the ceremonies, the KTBK Band Command will give a concert at 16:10.

Güzelyurt

The ceremony in Güzelyurt will take place at 09:00 in front of the Atatürk Monument opposite the Güzelyurt District Governor’s Office. The ceremony will begin with the laying of wreaths at the monument, a moment of silence, and the raising of the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem. Subsequently, the participants will move to the museum area for the review of the ceremonial units, speeches, poetry, and the official parade.

İskele

The ceremony in İskele will take place at 09:00 in Ecevit Square. The ceremony will include the laying of wreaths at the Atatürk Monument, a moment of silence, and the raising of the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem. The ceremony will continue with speeches, folk dance performances, and poetry, concluding with the official parade.

Lefke

The ceremony in Lefke will be held at 18:00 in front of the Lefke Atatürk Monument. There will be wreath-laying, a moment of silence for the martyrs, the raising of the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem, a review of the ceremonial units and holiday celebrations, followed by speeches, poetry, and the official parade.

Akdoğan, Geçitkale, Mehmetçik

Ceremonies will also be held in the regions for August 30 Victory Day.

The ceremony in front of the Akdoğan Atatürk Monument will begin at 09:00, comprising wreath-laying at the monument, a moment of silence, the National Anthem, and raising the flags to the mast, concluding with a speech.

The ceremony in Geçitkale Square will also take place at 09:00, including wreath-laying, a moment of silence, the National Anthem, raising the flags to the mast, and speeches and poetry to conclude.

In Mehmetçik, the ceremony at the Atatürk Monument will begin at 09:00, featuring wreath-laying at the monument, a moment of silence, and raising the flags to the mast accompanied by the National Anthem, followed by speeches and poetry readings.
