Erhürman “Diplomatic momentum to intensify this week”

Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman said a week filled with high-level diplomatic engagements has concluded, and an even more demanding schedule lies ahead.

Erhürman noted that the past week included crucial meetings with the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, the Swedish Ambassador, and the U.S. Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, alongside extensive domestic work and strategic preparations. He also pointed out that discussions at the Committee of Ministers in Strasbourg regarding the Immovable Property Commission and broader property issues have now been completed.

Stating that the current diplomatic process began after a long period of limited contact, during a time when both the world and the region are experiencing significant instability. Erhürman emphasized the importance of careful progress. He stressed that advancing with “small but correct steps” is essential and that mistakes cannot be afforded.

Erhürman assured that the public will be kept fully informed as every new step is taken. He called for calm, patience, and collective determination, expressing confidence that the country will continue moving forward together as intensified diplomatic efforts carry into the new year.
