Sefa Karahasan TRT Cyprus reporter, who was arrested as part of an investigation into fake diplomas and brought before Güzelyurt District Court today, has been ordered to remain in custody for three days.
Yesterday, as part of the investigation into fake diplomas conducted at Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (CHSSU), Sefa Karahasan was arrested and brought before Güzelyurt District Court today, where the decision was made for him to remain in custody for three days.
After the court hearing, Karahasan stated that there was a “serious conspiracy” against him.
In the hearing held this morning, Judge Gülay Süleymanoğlu Uğur of Güzelyurt District Court ordered Sefa Karahasan, who holds a doctoral degree in business administration and has been teaching at CHSSU for a year, to be held in custody at Güzelyurt Police Department for three days due to the allegations of suspicious doctoral diploma.
A police officer mentioned in court that the investigation against the suspect is ongoing and pointed out discrepancies in the grades of the diploma obtained by the suspect without attending any classes. Accordingly, the court decided to detain the suspect.
