September 25th to October 1st is Fire Brigade Week.
Within the framework of the activities to be organized for the week, a cortege was organized at Dereboyu in the capital Lefkoşa.
The General Directorate of Police is organizing various events to mark the Fire Brigade Week.
The activities organised will help raise awareness throughout society, demonstrate how to fight against fires and prevent them.
To start the weeklong events, on Wednesday a cortege was organized at the Mehmet Akif Street in Lefkoşa, between the Pronto roundabout and the Citröen traffic lights intersection.
In line with the weeklong activities, the Director of the Fire Brigade will take part on a variety of television and radio programs.
Throughout the week fire brigade personnel in all districts will distribute informative leaflets to the public on preventive measures to be taken against fires.
They will also organize fire training activities for students studying at primary schools.
On Tuesday, October 1, a blood donation campaign will be held at the Lefkoşa Fire Department in the Organized Industrial Zone to contribute to the shortage at hospitals.brt
