The Halkbank Producing Women Competition Award Ceremony took place in Istanbul, bringing together prominent figures advocating for women’s empowerment.
Among the attendees were Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan, and TRNC First Lady Sibel Tatar.
In her speech at the event, First Lady Emine Erdoğan emphasized the importance of increasing joint projects that focus on women, particularly in collaboration with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
She highlighted that women have always been at the forefront of fighting for their rights, defending their homeland, and healing societal wounds.
Emine Erdoğan also reminded attendees that 2025 has been declared the “Year of the Family” by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, underlining that women should not have to choose between work and family.
“The world’s problem areas are waiting for new solutions that women can bring,” she said, expressing her hope for more women-centered initiatives between Türkiye and the TRNC.
Meanwhile, First Lady Sibel Tatar, speaking to NTV in an exclusive interview, expressed pride in women’s achievements and reaffirmed the ongoing fight for gender equality.
“There are still many challenges ahead, but we will continue our struggle,” she stated.
At the conclusion of the event, Sibel Tatar and Emine Erdoğan participated in a family photo session, marking their commitment to supporting women’s success in both Türkiye and the TRNC.
