Five out of ten European flights bound for Tel Aviv, which were forced to divert to Larnaca Airport due to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel on the evening of Tuesday, October 1st, have now resumed their journeys, departing for Tel Aviv.
According to Hermes Airport officials, out of the ten flights that diverted to Larnaca, five have already taken off.
Passengers on three of the remaining flights were accommodated in hotels overnight, with their departure scheduled for later today.
The last two flights are still at Larnaca, with one delayed due to crew scheduling limitations and the other awaiting further updates on whether it can continue its journey to Tel Aviv.
Additionally, Larnaca Airport is expecting 10 flight arrivals from Tel Aviv today, along with 9 departures, primarily operated by Israeli airlines that are attempting to maintain their flight schedules.
Paphos Airport operations unaffected
Paphos Airport has not experienced any disruptions despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Information from Hermes suggests that flights between Paphos and Israel are continuing as usual, with no European-bound flights being diverted to Paphos after the missile strikes. Israeli airlines are operating normally, and no changes have been reported in Paphos’ flight schedules to Israel.
