Friendship groups held a working meeting

A working meeting was held between the heads and delegations of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups at the Republic’s Assembly on Monday.

Speaking prior to the meeting, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly and chairman of the TRNC-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Zorlu Töre stated that the issues of “what we can do or needs to be done” will be discussed at the meeting and noted that there will be more mutual meetings in the near future.

The head of the TRNC – Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Resmiye Eroğlu Canaltay pointed to the importance of the support provided by Azerbaijan and said, “We always had the dream of ‘3 states, one nation’. Today we have taken a step to realize this.”

Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Türkiye Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Ehliman Emiraslanov also noted that the friendship groups will continue their activities and that the meetings to be held for their development are important.

The Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Relations Working Group Cavanşir Feyziyev said that a start has been made and contacts will continue and intensify in the future as well.

The Chairman of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Şamil Ayrım said that their aim is to take the most appropriate steps to the paths that will ensure the recognition of the TRNC in the coming period.

The Chairman of the Türkiye-TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Orhan Erdem for his part said “It is much more important for a parliament to be recognized than a state” and noted that six chairmen were coming together today and carrying out unprecedented work.brt
