Inflation in Cyprus declines to 2.1% in March

Annual inflation in Cyprus decreased to 2.1% in March, down from 2.3% in February, according to a preliminary estimate released by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In comparison to March 2024, when inflation was recorded at 1.6%, the annual inflation rate shows an increase this year.

The same estimates indicate that the annual inflation rate for the eurozone stands at 2.2% in March 2025, a decline from 2.3% in February and 2.4% in March of the previous year.

When examining the main components of euro area inflation, services are expected to exhibit the highest annual rate in March at 3.4%, down from 3.7% in February. This is followed by food, alcohol, and tobacco at 2.9%, an increase from 2.7% in February. Non-energy industrial goods maintained a stable rate of 0.6%, while energy recorded a decline of -0.7% compared to 0.2% in February.
