The traditional Işık Kitabevi Book Fair has begun.

This year’s fair, held for the 37th time with the theme “Where is Hope in the Age of Barbarism,” opened with a cocktail reception and a performance by the Jazz Trio group.

At the opening night, the Honorary Award was presented to Takis Hatzidimitriu, while the Literature and Art Service Awards were given to Raşit Pertev and Hristos Hacıpapas.

The evening also featured a joint exhibition organized by the Cyprus Turkish Cartoonists Association and the Cyprus Artists and Writers Union, titled “Solidarity with Gaza and Cyprus without a Solution.”

Unlike previous years, this year’s fair is being held in Samanbahçe, Lefkoşa, at both Işık Kitabevi and BLCKBRD Social.

The fair will be open daily from 8:00 p.m. to midnight, with a 10% discount on all books except educational materials.

Events within the program will begin at 8:30 p.m.
