Former President of the Cyprus Turkish Public Employees Union (KTAMS), Ahmet Kaptan, expressed his reaction on social media, stating that a woman threw a live hamster in a cage into the trash. Without disclosing the person’s car plate number. He urged anyone interested to adopt the binned hamster contact him.
Ahmet Kaptan’s statement regarding the incident is as follows: “This afternoon, a woman with the car plate number, which I have, who claims to be an animal lover, threw this live animal in its cage into my trash. If anyone is interested in taking it, please call me.”
Mr Kaptan did not reveal if he contacted the authorities to complain about the the person. TRNC has animal welfare laws and cruelty and neglect is a punishable offence.
