As part of the World Children’s day celebrations, the Mayor of Lapta Alsancak Fırat Ataser left his seat for the children from the local primary schools. The Turkish tradition of high rank officials leaving their seats and giving it to children on the day is going for a century.
The children took turns in being Mayor during the ceremony and told Mayor Ataser of their projects and goals if they were to be mayor one day.
Mayor Ataser, handed gifts to the children on their special day and said that the Municipality always has benn showing great interest in children and their needs due to the fact that the children represent the future of the Lapta-Alsancak and the country.
