Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu who is continuing with his contacts in Azerbaijan visited the mausoleum of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan Martyrs’ Cemetery and the Baku Turkish Martyrdom.
He later met with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev.
According to the information given by the Press Office of the Ministry, Çavuşoğlu stated that the TRNC views the relations with Azerbaijan as the relations of ‘one nation, three states’ and expressed his satisfaction to see the relations move to a new dimension.
Expressing the hope that their first visit to Azerbaijan will open a new door of cooperation, Çavuşoğlu said, “I hope our Azerbaijani brothers will be able to meet with their Turkish Cypriot brothers.”
Çavuşoğlu said that they will provide scholarships to 20 Azerbaijani students who want to study in the TRNC.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Amrullayev said he was pleased to see Minister Çavuşoğlu and his delegation in his country.
He also emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC have recently reached a good level and stated that they are ready for cooperation.
Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu also visited the Turkish Embassy in Baku and met with Ambassador Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Bağcı.
While Çavuşoğlu received information from Ambassador Bağcı about the educational activities carried out in Azerbaijan, ideas were also exchanged regarding activities planned for the future.
Minister Çavuşoğlu will inaugurate the TRNC Higher Education Promotion Fair to be organized by the Ministry of National Education in Baku tomorrow.
After completing his contacts in Baku, Çavuşoğlu will attend the 8th Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Education of the Organization of Turkic States to be held in Shusha, Azerbaijan on June 1.brt
