Nalbantoğlu offers minimally invasive heart surgeries

Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek announced that the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital is now equipped to perform minimally invasive heart surgeries independently, following a €100,000 investment in new medical devices and equipment.

The recent upgrades allow these procedures to be carried out without requiring equipment or technical teams from abroad.

Minister Dinçyürek visited the Cardiac and Vascular Surgery Department at the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, where he was briefed on the newly enhanced capabilities for minimally invasive surgeries.

During his visit, he met with a patient who had recently undergone one of these surgeries and provided additional information. Dinçyürek highlighted that since 2017, such surgeries have required equipment and technical support from abroad.

However, with the recent investment by the Ministry of Health, the hospital can now perform these operations using its resources and equipment.

He emphasized, “In the past, these surgeries were conducted under different conditions. Now, they are performed within an institutional framework with the state’s resources and team. We will continue our investments in the healthcare sector.”

Dr. Özcan Gür, a Cardiac and Vascular Surgery Specialist at the hospital, also provided details about the surgery, underscoring the significance of the new capabilities for the institution.
