Northern Cyprus will observe Mevlid Kandili—the holy night commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad—with special programmes in mosques across the country this evening. Events will take place between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM, following evening prayers.
In a message marking the occasion, President of Religious Affairs Hakan Moral highlighted that Mevlid Kandili is an opportunity to reflect on and embrace the Prophet’s values of mercy, compassion, brotherhood, justice, and truth.
He noted that the Prophet’s exemplary life, guided by the principles of the Qur’an, has served as a source of direction for humanity for centuries, offering a path to rebuild character and live with moral integrity.
Moral invited the public to join tonight’s mosque programmes to share in the spiritual atmosphere and expressed his wish that Mevlid Kandili would bring peace, blessings, and salvation to the Islamic world and all humanity.
