Interior Minister Dursun Oğuz and Finance Minister Özdemir Berova met with veterans at the Gazimağusa Branch of the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association on Thursday.
During the visit, it was emphasized that the homeland was established by paying a great price and the struggled waged by the veterans was very important.
Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz and Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova visited the Gazimağusa Branch of the Turkish Peace Forces Veterans Association.
Speaking at the visit, the President of the Veterans Association Nusrettin Yuca reminded that the country has paid a great price for it to come to where it has today and said that their struggle to keep the established state alive is still continuing.
“We will never give up the just cause, we are always ready for duty so that the glorious flag does not descend and the call to prayer does not stop” said Yuca.
Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova for his part stated that the struggle of the veterans who embraced the Turkish Cypriot people during the July 20 Peace Operation was phenomenal.
Berova stated that since that day, a great progress has been made towards becoming a state in the North of the island and that the morale and motivation received from the Veterans in this process is a great source of strength for the Turkish Cypriot people.
He emphasized that the registration of two states together with Motherland Türkiye was clearly given as a message to the world at every opportunity and noted that the presence of veterans is also very important at this point.
Minister of Interior Dursun Oğuz for his part stated that the veterans have made great efforts in the creation of a homeland.
Drawing attention to what is happening in the world, Oğuz said, “We see what the Motherland means” and underlined that the Turkish military is the guarantee of the island.
He emphasized that it is very important to appreciate the value of freedom and the established state and said that the struggle of the veterans is a guide for them.
Oğuz underlined that it is inevitable for future generations to keep the state alive and protect the state, and noted that they always support the veterans.brt
