
Events will be organized on March 8, the symbol of women’s struggle.
Announcing the activities to be organized on the occasion of the day at a press conference, the officials of the Social Struggle Platform emphasized the need for protective, preventive and deterrent laws against femicides and violence against women.
The Social Struggle Platform organized a press conference to give detailed information regarding the events that will take place on March 8th International Working Women’s Day.
At the press conference held at the Bandabuliya Cultural Center, Famagusta Women’s Center Association MAKAMER President Sıdıka Özdoğan spoke on behalf of the Social Struggle Platform.
Emphasizing that in order to ensure gender equality, the Gender Equality Department should be activated as soon as possible by employing expert staff, Özdoğan emphasized that violence prevention centers and shelters should be built in every region.
Özdoğan also underlined that protective, preventive and deterrent laws against femicides and violence against women should be implemented.
Following the statement, Özdoğan announced the program of events to be held on the occasion of the day.
She announced that the events, which will start on Wednesday, March 5, will be completed on Saturday, March 8.
