Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Ziya Öztürkler received the President of the TMT Fighters Association Celal Bayar and the members of the Board of Directors.
Speaking during the visit the President of the TMT Fighters Association President Celal Bayar wished Ziya Öztürkler and the members of the council success in their duties.
Acting President and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Ziya Öztürkler for his part stated that he knows very well what TMT means and what kind of spirit it fought with and voiced his honor at being able to host the members of the TMT Fighters Association in the Republic’s Assembly.
Stating that the TMT played a key role in bringing the Turkish Cypriot people out of those difficult days into the light, Öztürkler noted that everyone who took part in the struggle was a hero.
Noting that these heroes took many missions by risking their lives for the homeland, Öztürkler said, “The pioneers of our struggle for existence, Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Rauf Raif Denktaş and many nameless heroic mujahideen have made great sacrifices and efforts”.
“The Turkish Cypriots have never forgotten the determined stance of the Prime Minister of the Motherland Türkiye at that time Bülent Ecevit and Deputy Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan during the Peace Operation period. We will work to take the struggle carried out under the leadership of TMT and the TRNC further. We will continue to protect the flags of the TRNC and the Republic of Türkiye” said Öztürkler.
