Following the 13th General Assembly of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA), held at the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Zorlu Töre, joined other parliamentary leaders in assessing the outcomes of the meeting.
In a press conference held in the Assembly Hall, Töre emphasized the necessity for Turkic states to stand united in solidarity.
Reflecting on the discussions, Töre stated, “The Turkic world must be united, robust, and lively.”
He reiterated the significance of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s remark, “The world is bigger than five,” highlighting global injustices.
He pointed to the situation in Gaza as an example of international inequity, noting that despite recognition from 146 countries, atrocities continue there.
“We see what is happening in Gaza today. Despite 146 countries recognizing Palestine, the massacres continue. Only our Motherland, Türkiye, recognizes us, and thanks to the strength of the Turkish military, they cannot harm us. For us, the greatest is Türkiye, the Turkic world, and the Turkish nation. Long live the Turkish nation,” Töre declared.
Töre also underscored the importance of unity and support among Turkic nations.
“We love the entire Turkic world dearly. For us, neither the European Union nor the United Nations is significant. Our only recognition comes from Türkiye, and with the power of the Turkish army, we remain unscathed,” he said, stressing the importance of solidarity and mutual support among Turkic states.
Meanwhile, Töre also met with the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş on the sidelines of the press conference.
The bilateral meeting focused on further strengthening the ties between their respective countries.
