The General Directorate of Police (PGM) has called on anyone with information about Greek Cypriots who went missing or died during the 1964 and 1974 war — and whose remains have since been identified by the Committee on Missing Persons — to come forward.
In a statement, the PGM said an active investigation is underway under the supervision of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine the circumstances of these deaths. The remains in question were recovered during excavations carried out by the Committee on Missing Persons and identified through DNA analysis.
Authorities are asking individuals with relevant knowledge — including details about the disappearance or death of these individuals or information from their relatives — to contact the General Directorate of Police in Nicosia and provide a statement.
Appointments can be arranged by calling 0090 548 811 2179 (Turkish) or 0090 548 811 2178 (English).
