Police has issued a warning to the public about a rise in car sale scams circulating on social media platforms.
According to the statement, fraudulent individuals are posing as legitimate car sellers or intermediaries, using fake advertisements on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to deceive buyers.
The police urged citizens to be extremely cautious when purchasing vehicles through unsecured online or social media listings. They also advised against transferring any money before verifying the seller’s identity, meeting the actual vehicle owner, and inspecting the registration documents.
