The Polish Member of the European Parliament Tomasz Poreba has been holding a variety of contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Poreba was received by President Ersin Tatar and Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre respectively.
President Ersin Tatar received and met with Tomasz Poreba, the Polish Member of the European Parliament.
Poreba was later received by the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre.
Speaking during the visit Töre reminded that the Greek Cypriots and Greeks were responsible for what happened in Cyprus and that all the solution proposals offered by the United Nations were rejected by the Greek Cypriots.
Pointing to the two-state solution vision of the Turkish Cypriot side, Töre asked everyone to accept the existence of two sovereign equal states in Cyprus.
He also emphasized that taking into account what is happening in the world and in Cyprus; they will not give up sovereignty and independence.
Tomasz Poreba for his part thanked Töre for the information he provided on the Cyprus issue and said that what he just heard and its general outlines was in line with his views and thoughts.
Stating that he has been working for 20 years in the European Parliament, Poreba said that he has seen that the promises made have not been kept and that many opportunities have been missed.
