At least 20 people were killed and dozens more trapped after two powerful earthquakes struck Myanmar on Friday, causing significant structural damage and sending tremors across neighbouring countries.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported two consecutive earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude, with the epicentre located approximately 50 kilometres east of Monywa in central Myanmar.
