Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s (TBMM) National Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Commission, Mahmut Özer, and his delegation were received by President Ersin Tatar on Tuesday as part of their contacts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
During the meeting, Özer expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening relations between Türkiye and the TRNC.
He noted that Turkish President Erdoğan has been effectively advocating for the just cause of the Turkish Cypriots on the global stage.
Özer also expressed happiness over the close relationship established by the Azerbaijan Friendship Group with the Turkish Cypriots.
“The TGNA’s National Education, Culture, Youth, and Sports Commission stands at the service of the Turkish Cypriot people,” said Özer, expressing hope for even stronger consultations.
He emphasized that by working hand in hand, they will elevate the TRNC to an even stronger position.
In his speech, President Ersin Tatar stressed the importance of national education.
He highlighted that the future preparation of the country’s youth by preserving cultural heritage relies on the sensitivity of the teachers in this regard.
President Tatar also noted that even during the British colonial period, the preservation of Turkish identity has led to the existence of an independent Turkish State in this region today.brt
