A delegation from the Azerbaijan National Assembly’s TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, who are currently in the country as part of the November 15th Republic Day celebrations, held meetings with state and government officials.
President Ersin Tatar and Parliamentary Speaker Ziya Öztürkler on Wednesday received the Chairman of the Azerbaijan National Assembly’s TRNC Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Cevanşir Feyziyev, along with Tural Gancaliyev, who are in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to participate in the November 15th Republic Day celebrations.
During the meeting, President Tatar stressed that the TRNC was an inseparable part of the Turkic World and reiterated that the TRNC continued on its path with independence and freedom.
Noting that the engagements and increased cooperation following the acceptance of the TRNC as an observer member had strengthened the political foundation, Tatar expressed hope for further strengthening of the brotherly ties between the two states.
The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly, Ziya Öztürkler, in his reception of the delegation, reminded that they had consistently advocated the slogan “three states, one nation” on every platform.
Referring to the support given by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Azerbaijan’s President, Ilham Aliyev, within the Organization of Turkic States and Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), he stressed the importance of calls for the recognition of the TRNC.
Öztürkler also expressed his happiness in feeling the moral support of the Azerbaijani delegation from the heart of the Republic on November 15th, a day that symbolizes the declaration of freedom and independence.brt
