President Tatar attends iftar organized by N. Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent

President Ersin Tatar attended the iftar dinner organized by the North Cyprus Turkish Red Crescent on Tuesday night.

Speaking to reporters after the iftar, the President pointed out that Ramadan in Gaza was passed under difficult conditions and said, “We neither forget the past nor Gaza.”

Tatar thanked Motherland Türkiye for the peace and tranquility that exists in Cyprus today.

Tatar, in his statement to journalists after iftar, stated that the Islamic world should be in solidarity due to Ramadan.

Stating that the TRNC is a part of the Islamic world, President Tatar said that they are happy to reach another Ramadan in peace and solidarity.

The President also pointed to the experiences of the Palestinians in Gaza and noted that Ramadan in Gaza was passed under difficult conditions.

Tatar said, “We neither forget the past nor Gaza. In a year and a half, more than 50 thousand people in Gaza lost their lives in Israeli attacks. Right now, people are breaking their fast with limited means and without homes. As a people that experienced the same things in the 1960s, we understand Palestinians. Thank God there is peace and tranquility here today. We would like to thank our motherland, Türkiye, for making this possible.”BRT
