President Tatar attends NEU graduation ceremonies

President Ersin Tatar on Tuesday attended the graduation ceremonies at the Near East University (NEU) and Cyprus International University (CIU).

Addressing the students during the two separate ceremonies, Tatar said, “It is my greatest wish that you serve your country and humanity.”

The Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre attended the ceremony at CIU and during his speech drew attention to the events in Gaza.

President Ersin Tatar attended the graduation ceremony that took place at the Near East University.

While delivering his speech at the ceremony President Tatar pointed to the importance of students from different countries studying together in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which is the island of education.

He emphasized the importance of receiving education in the TRNC in peace, tranquillity and security while there are problems in many countries around the world.

President Ersin Tatar and the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre also attended the graduation ceremony of the Cyprus International University (CIU).

In his speech at the ceremony, the Speaker of the Republic’s Assembly Zorlu Töre stated that he shared the happiness of the graduating students, but that they also felt pain due to the massacres in Gaza this year.

Calling for “Freedom for Palestine”, Töre drew attention to the fact that imperialist countries do not want peace in the world and asked the students to be careful and not to fall prey to their games.

He also stated that the source of the Turkish Cypriot people’s freedom and security is Türkiye and the Turkish army.

President Ersin Tatar in his speech at the ceremony emphasized the importance of lifelong education.

Speaking about personal development and keeping up with the times, Tatar said, “It is my greatest wish that you renew yourself and serve your country and humanity.”
