President Ersin Tatar received students from Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School on the occasion of May 19th Youth and Sports Day.
President Tatar congratulated the youth on May 19th Youth and Sports Day, saying, “We trust the youth; our future is our young people who will protect these lands and lead us to better days.”
On the occasion of May 19th Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, President Ersin Tatar received the principal, vice principal, and students of Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School at the Presidential Complex.
The first speech at the reception was given by the school principal Erdoğan Keskindağ, who thanked President Ersin Tatar for receiving them.
“Youth means our future. We are placing bright young people. They will take the places where we will sit. They are very determined, hardworking, and courageous” Keskindağ said.
Afterwards, students Vera Binatlılı, Hülya Topel, Ege Uluer, and Adnan Tekman met with President Ersin Tatar.
President Tatar for his part said, “The buildings belong to our state. For centuries to come, presidents and presidential staff will serve the Turkish Cypriot people here.”
Tatar also introduced the newly built Presidential Complex to the students and teachers.
“We trust the youth. Our youth are our future. They should continue to trust the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The republic is our freedom, our independence. Independence is honour and dignity. I believe our youth will protect their country and carry it into the future” the President stressed.
Highlighting the importance of Teknofest held in the TRNC, Tatar noted that the Republic of Türkiye was providing full support for the TRNC to transform into an information technology island.
He also stressed that the future of youth lies in technology and science and stated that unjust isolations will be overcome thanks to this.
Meanwhile, students from different schools paid similar visits to Police Chief Kasım Kuni, Security Forces Commander Major General İlker Görgülü, Civil Defence Organization President Atilla Karaca.
They will be visiting Prime Minister Ünal Üstel in the afternoon. BRT
