President Ersin Tatar emphasized that with the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the message of two states and two peoples in Cyprus was given very clearly.
Reiterating that Türkiye was the biggest supporter of the Turkish Cypriot people in their national struggle, the President pointed to the importance of developing and increasing ties with Türkiye for the continuation of the state and national existence.
President Ersin Tatar received Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Keçiören District Chairman Metin Bayrakçı and the board of directors.
Speaking during the visit President Ersin Tatar stated that as the Turkish Cypriot people, they continue their struggle and strive to make their voices heard as an independent Turkish state.
Referring to the 1974 Peace Operation and the developments that followed, President Tatar emphasized that with the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, they gave the very clear message that there are two states and two peoples in Cyprus.
“The existence of an independent Turkish state in North Cyprus with our language, religion, national values, history and spirituality is an important source for the protection of our cooperation with Motherland Türkiye, our ties with the Turkic world, our rights in the Blue Homeland, our national rights and interests. The existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a sovereign state, is important. Otherwise, our existence and security as a people will be in trouble,” said Tatar.
The President stated that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus should be further strengthened for the security, peace and sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot people, as well as the protection of balances in the region.
Emphasizing that as the President of the Republic, he is an advocate of two-state politics, Tatar pointed to the importance of developing and increasing ties with Türkiye for the continuation of the state and national existence.
Reiterating that Türkiye was the biggest supporter of the Turkish Cypriot people in their national struggle, the President expressed his satisfaction in this regard. brt
