President Tatar: We will continue to advocate for a two-state policy

The Deputy Head of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and an accompanying delegation are in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

The delegation was received by President Ersin Tatar.

Addressing the delegation President Tatar stated that a new era has begun in Cyprus with the Cyprus Peace Operation.

“The new politics is now a two-state politics. We cannot afford to waste any more time,” he emphasized.

President Ersin Tatar received Mustafa Canbey, Deputy Head of the Turkish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and his accompanying delegation.

Speaking during the visit, President Tatar stated that a dynamic process is being experienced on the Cyprus issue.

He emphasized that the Turkish Cypriot people are in an intense effort to explain and defend their position and to increase the visibility of the TRNC.

Noting that they will continue to defend the two-state policy, Tatar stated that their greatest supporter in this struggle is the President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.                      President Tatar stated that he will continue to be an advocate for the two-state policy, emphasizing that the new policy is the right decision and there will be no turning back.

Highlighting that they want an agreement based on the realities of the island, with statehood and sovereignty as the foundation, Tatar said that they have presented proposals for the future of Cyprus, aiming to bring the island to a more prosperous tomorrow through cooperation between the two states.
