Republic Day parade held in Lefkoşa

Celebrations marking the 41st anniversary celebrations kicked off on Wednesday with the “Republic Parade,” organized by the Ministry of National Education.

Students from schools and universities across the Lefkoşa region joined the event, carrying 100-meter-long flags of the TRNC and Türkiye in a spirited display of unity.

Wednesday’s parade began in front of the Ministry of National Education, proceeding through Girne Gate, and Courthouse before reaching the Presidential Palace.

Along the route, there were folk dance performances, gymnastics and taekwondo demonstrations.

There speeches were delivered by the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and President Ersin Tatar highlighting the significance of the day.

In remarks at the event, National Education Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu emphasized the challenges of founding a state, noting, “Uplifting our Republic, the product of our struggle for existence, is our duty.”

President Ersin Tatar, addressing the young participants, called them “the future of the nation” and reiterated the need for global recognition of the TRNC.

He expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the establishment of the Republic, affirming that having a state is one of a nation’s greatest achievements.brt
