School break for summer on Monday June 16

The 2024–2025 academic year in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus officially concludes on Monday, 16 June 2025, as approximately 58,000 students in public and private primary and secondary schools receive their report cards and completion certificates.

Around 6,300 teachers will also begin their summer break.

The new school year, 2025–2026, is scheduled to begin on Monday, 15 September 2025.

According to the Ministry of National Education, 132 schools under the Primary Education Department serve 28,000 students, while 49 general secondary schools have 25,000 students.

An additional 4,000 students are enrolled in 13 vocational high schools, and about 700 students attend apprenticeship and adult education centres.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the College Entrance Examination (KGS-2) will be held on Saturday, 14 June, determining students’ eligibility for admission based on placement scores.

The Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School and 20 Temmuz Science High School Placement Exam will take place on Saturday, 21 June, and the Lefkoşa Anatolian Fine Arts High School Entrance Exam is scheduled for 25–27 June.

Make-up exams for secondary education students will run between 17–20 June.

Applications for vocational high school programs will be accepted from 18–23 June, with placement results announced on Monday, 23 June.brt
